Q. We are a commercial and packaging printing company. We want to use an ultrasonic cleaner to remove inks (oil based inks, UV inks and waterbased inks) from anilox rollers, ceramic rollers and grease from machine parts. What are the recommended cleaning solutions detergents that you can recommend?

A. To remove inks from printing machinery use a warm 5% Detergent 8® Low-Foaming Ion-Free Detergent solution.  Rinse thoroughly after cleaning.  The emulsifiers, co-solvents and saponifiers in Detergent 8 cleaner can remove a wide range of inks.

We would not recommend use of Detergent 8 cleaner on any aluminum parts.  A Citranox® Liquid Acid Cleaner and Detergent or Alconox® Powdered Precision Cleaner solution would be safest in such circumstances.

If you have marker residue, we can assist with that as well.
