Q. How to remove salt flux from copper substrates in medical device cleaning?

A. I recommend you use Citranox detergent to remove the water soluble salt flux from your copper substrates on a medical device. Citranox is certified by the FDA, is effective on salt flux residues and is safe on copper substrates. We have biocompatability data for Citranox that may help you with any pharmaceutical or medical device cleaning validation you may do. Visit www.alconoxwhitepaper.com for additional information on cleaning validation and applications. A gallon of Citranox will make 50 gallons of 2% cleaning solution. Citranox is typically used at a 2% dilution (2.5 oz/gal) in warm or hot ultrasonics for 10 minutes followed by a thorough deionized water rinse for components in electronic and medical device cleaning.
