1% Tergazyme Solution Shelf Life

Q. Do you have any suggestions about the shelf life of 1% Tergazyme solution?

A. Tergazyme solutions should be used within 8 hours of dissolving the powdered Tergazyme detergent in water. As dry powder, Tergazyme has excellent stability with a shelf life of 2 years from date of manufacture. The dry Tergazyme will give a reliable and consistent amount of active protease enzyme upon dissolving. Liquid enzymatic cleaners can have varying and declining amounts of available active protease enzyme as they get older. Liquid enzymatic cleaners Once you dissolve the Tergazyme in water, the protease enzyme is activated and begins to digest proteins, including digesting itself. This is why you would not want to heat Tergazyme solutions hotter than 130 deg F (55 deg C), so as to avoid overly accelerating the protease degradation; you risk not even getting 8 hours of useful solution life. This is why you want to use the Tergazyme solutions within 8 hours of mixing them up.
