Q. I have two questions. 1) How does Titanium react with Alconox®? And 2) How does Liquinox® clean Silicon Oils? If possible, I would like to have one type of cleaning solution. If not possible, then we will us what is necessary. We clean 304 STL, OFHC Copper, Alumina Ceramic, & Titanium. All will be cleaned for ultra high vacuum service like the rest of our parts.
Q. We are a generic pharmaceutical manufacturer of Creams and Ointments. We are having difficulty cleaning equipment (specifically CIP) after making these types of products. We have been successful in cleaning 95% of our products using the alkaline detergent. We have couple of products that leave a white film after the cleaning cycles. These products do not contain metal oxides. We are planning to try the Citranox acid cleaner. Any suggestions?
Q. How do you determine acceptable residue limits when performing a cleaning validation?
A. All Alconox Inc. cleaners have an oral LD50 of greater than 500 mg/Kg acceptable residue limit. Alconox®, Liquinox® and Citranox® all have an oral LD50 of greater than 5 g/Kg. If you calculate 1/1000 of the LD50 as a potential residue in a dose …
Q. I have a laboratory technologist that has severe allergies to corn and citrus and their derivatives upon inhalation. Can you tell me what is the organic base of the citric acid in Citranox? A. Citric Acid in Citranox® and Citrajet® is produced through a fermentation process. A carbohydrate source, either dextrose derived from corn or sucrose from beet sugar or cane sugar is fermented to Citric Acid using Aspergillus niger. The fermentation is conducted . . .
Q. I am developing a new cleaning process to replace the process we are using for cleaning glass slides before applying Silane coating. We are using strong acid to clean glass slides. I want to use a process where I first use basic aqueous solution, then use DI water to rinse, followed by acidic solution to chelate away metal ions. Then we’ll do DI water rinse, air dry, and finally use oxygen plasma to final clean the glass slide. What acidic aqueous solution and basic aqueous solution can you suggest?
