Removing Ester Oil lubricants and Brass Particulates

Q. I’m doing electronic cleaning and I’d like to test a detergent sample for a project that requires a non-residue flushant for an aluminum gearbox with brass gears. During the burn-in phase, the gear box accumulates brass particles. After burn-in, this sealed gearbox is drained of the ester oil lubricant and flushed with solvent to assist in removal of the brass residue. The unit is then filled with fresh lubricant and shipped to the customer. We wish to replace the solvent to be in advance compliance with California VOC rules.

Replacing a <1 pH Acid Electronics Cleaner

Q. Our current detergent is very acidic (pH ~ 1) and very costly to dispose of. We wish to use a cleaning solution that is non-hazardous and can be disposed of down our sink drains into the sewer system. Are solutions of Alconox cleaners (i.e. 1-2% of Citrajet or Detergent 8) safe for dumping down the drain?

Manual Amikacin Sulphate Residue Removal

Q. Which Alconox cleaners can manually remove Amikacin Sulphate? A. Amikacin Sulphate is soluble to 1.85X10E5 mg/L, contains amine functional groups and glycoside linkages therefore it is best cleaned by acid. Citranox would be the first choice for this pharmaceutical cleaning.

Cleaning Aluminum with White Marks after Ultrasonic Procedure

Q. During the ultrasonic cleaning procedure, white marks appear on our aluminium parts. and they do not rub off. The only way to get rid of them is to use scotchbrite and rub them off. Any help would be very welcome.
