Q: What is the difference between Liquinox vs. Citranox? We are using Liquinox for many of our applications but are having trouble with stainless steel cleaning cannulas with a small ID. Is Citranox the answer if the residue is inorganic?
A: Although Liquinox detergent is excellent at cleaning a host of residues, Citranox cleaner is indeed the better choice if we are fairly certain this is a largely inorganic residue.
The technique of 3D printing, also known as additive manufacturing, allows for the production of complex geometries, both metallic and polymer, that a few years ago designers could only dream of. However, these geometries present some post printing issues that impede the rapid production times that makes additive manufacturing attractive. One of these issues is the removal of trapped metal powder from these tight features, channels and porosity of these complex geometries.
We are using a bath of Alconox powder for cleaning several metallic parts. We have found that both the concentration of Alconox, along with a set duration brings about the correct end result. As the wash solution is created at the beginning of each working shift, a gradual ‘weakening’ of the process occurs. In some instances, we resort to manually replenishing the tank with a fresh mix mid-shift. Would you have any general advice?
