Q. We’re using Citranox in our laser chillers. Looking for liquid soda ash to remove the Citranox?

A. Thanks for your question about liquid soda ash to neutralize Citranox in a laser chiller. There is a 25% soda ash liquid product made by FMC: http://www.fmcchemicals.com/Products/SodaAsh/LiquidSoda.aspx.

Be sure to neutralize in an open tub with room for some foaming. During the addition of the soda, bubbles will form, much as when you add baking soda to vinegar. Add the soda slowly with sprinkling to control the rate of bubbling. Wait for some of the bubbles to subside before adding more.
