Q. When using Tergazyme® enzyme-active powdered detergent, the recommended concentration is 1%.   Are there occasions when a greater concentration is used?  If so, is there some kind of saturation point where a high concentration will be ineffective?

A. Tergazyme detergent has a solubility limit around 10% (w/w) in water depending on temperature. Increasing concentration can increase cleaning capacity (the amount of residue removed).  Increasing concentration has a very small impact on increased detergency (the rate of residue removal).  We would not recommend going beyond 4% in pursuit of increased detergency.  Theoretically you could go to higher concentrations in pursuit of increased cleaning capacity, although in practice we are unaware of anyone that has done this.  So in practical experience terms we suggest that the limit of concentration use is 4%.
