Q: The washer unit we are using at our hospital appears to have had it’s Pasteur-Sol detergent made no longer available.  What does Alconox, Inc. recommend to replace it?  We were using a powdered detergent.

A: To replace the detergent here, we recommend our “go-to” powdered washer detergent, specifically Alcojet® Low Foaming Powdered Detergent.  It is a both powerful emulsifier of organic and oily residue, free-rinsing, will leave behind no interfering residues, and is without dyes, fragrances, brighteners or softeners.  Thus ensuring your Pasteurmatic washer functions as intended, and your medical device parts are robustly cleaned in preparation for disinfection steps.

If enzymatic cleaning is recommended, Tergazyme® Enzyme-Active Powdered Detergent provides potent emulsification of organic residues along with proteases for effective and enhanced proteinaceous and bioresidue removal, including blood, bodily fluids, tissue, etc.

We are always please to discuss your specific application further.
