Q. We are discontinuing the use of Chromic Sulfuric Acid and need a worthy substitute. What do you recommend? A. Chromic sulfuric acid was historically used to clean laboratory glassware back before the advent of laboratory detergents. It was effective on a very wide range of residues and water solubility gave interfering, residue-free surfaces. Of course, chromic sulfuric acid is also highly hazardous and difficult to dispose.
Q. We have bronze anodized metal that has water spots/stains on it. So far we’ve only tried denatured alcohol, but we’re looking for a new cleaner. We install store front metals and doors and often we receive our metal extrusions with these spots. We currently have a very large order that has to be installed quickly and need a quick cleanup that we can use on the job site.

Q. We are looking for a neutral ultrasonic cleaner and currently use Liquinox. Should we be considering Alconox or Alcojet?
A. Since you have Liquinox and you’re doing ultrasonic cleaning, I would recommend continuing to use Liquinox. We recommend a 1% Liquinox solution in most cases, depending upon the residue being removed and the material of construction.
Q. We have a yellowish color on some of our beakers (even after washing at 150 deg F). It looks like it is scale build up. Are we using the right detergent, we have tried alconox powder & Liquinox. Do you think we need a detergent that is more acidic? This is our first time using an ultrasonic machine. We are trying to find the best produce for our application. Do we need to wash longer or at a higher concentration.
