Q. Current procedure calls for an ultrasonic bath at 69C for 20 mins with Liquinox® and DI water. Then calls for another such DI bath at 69C with NO detergent for 20 mins. Then a 1 min DI water flushing. Is Liquinox appropriate? When I clean the parts, they have already been cleaned by vendor in the exact same manner, essentially I re-clean them. Is this overkill?

Alconox® Powdered Precision Cleaner, Liquinox® Critical Cleaning Liquid Detergent, Tergazyme® Enzyme-Active Powdered Detergent, Citranox® Liquid Acid Cleaner and Detergent, and Alcotabs® Tablet Pipet Detergent all contain roughly 5-20% sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate surfactant. The aquatic toxicity is derived from the surfactant. This surfactant is sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate.

Q. We are looking for a product that is phosphate-free to use in our automatic microplate washer. Currently we use Tergazyme. Removal of salts and antibodies (proteins) needed. Liquid preferred.
A. For automated cleaning of microplates use phosphate-free, low foaming liquid Solujet® for cleaning. Solujet® contains chelating agents that can remove salts and high alkalinity for alkaline hydrolysis and cleaning of proteins.
