Q. We are looking for a product that is phosphate-free to use in our automatic microplate washer. Currently we use Tergazyme®. Removal of salts and antibodies (proteins) needed. Liquid preferred.

A. Tergazyme™ Enzyme-Active Powdered Detergent is an excellent detergent for manual cleaning or sonication where protein removal is required, but is ultimately not suited for washers due to foaming.

For automated cleaning of microplates we recommend use of Solujet™ Low-Foaming Phosphate-Free Liquid for cleaning.  Solujet liquid concentrate is a powerful, multifaceted detergent used in CIP and washer systems across several life science industries. It contains chelating agents that can remove salts, and high alkalinity for alkaline hydrolysis and cleaning of proteins.  It also contains a surfactant to facilitate the removal of other organic residues, but still low foaming for use in pressurized washers.

If you’d like to try a sample of Solujet®, please fill out the questionnaire to Request a Sample.  For more information about Solujet®, consult the Technical Bulletin or SDS.
