Q. Alcojet is not dispensing/dissolving in my lab washer. Do you know why this would happen?
A. When this happens to customers, the most common cause is putting Alcojet into a wet dispenser cup. The caking effect is made worse if the Alcojet does not immediately dispense before running the washer. This causes the wet Alcojet to sit in the wet detergent dispenser cup, cake up solidly and form a cement. When the wash cycle finally pops the dispenser door, the detergent will not dissolve.
Q: What do you recommend to clean guanidine thiocyanate and sodium azide from a centrifuge. The centrifuge manufacturer requests a low foaming neutral cleaner. There may also be enzymatic residues.

Q: How do you dispose of Alnochromix cleaner and sulfuric acid mixtures? What kind of container can hold the mixture, and what are the outgasses?
A: Excellent question about what disposal and containers are recommend, and what outgasses are there from an Alnochromix®/sulfuric acid solution. The mixture of Alnochromix and concentrated sulfuric acid forms peroxydisulfuric acid, bisulfate salts, and persulfate salts along, which will be present with sulfuric acid. The mixture will outgas sulfur dioxide and oxygen when oxidizing organic residues. This is why you want to store in a vented container. Vent caps are available at Alconox.com in the shop.
Q: What is the difference between Liquinox vs. Citranox? We are using Liquinox for many of our applications but are having trouble with stainless steel cleaning cannulas with a small ID. Is Citranox the answer if the residue is inorganic?
A: Although Liquinox detergent is excellent at cleaning a host of residues, Citranox cleaner is indeed the better choice if we are fairly certain this is a largely inorganic residue.
