High Vacuum Silicon Removal from Titanium
Q. I have two questions. 1) How does Titanium react with Alconox®? And 2) How does Liquinox® clean Silicon Oils? If possible, I would like to have one type of cleaning solution. If not possible, then we will us what is necessary. We clean 304 STL, OFHC Copper, Alumina Ceramic, & Titanium. All will be cleaned for ultra high vacuum service like the rest of our parts.
Liquinox for Cleaning Stainless Steel
Q. Can we use liquinox to wash the passivated stainless steel parts?
A. Liquinox can be used to clean passivated stainless steel. Liquinox will not degrade the passivation of stainless steel. Martensitic or 400 series stainless steel is best cleaned at reduced temperatures below 100 deg F (below 45 deg C) so that you can rinse with the same temperature water without risk of breaking any emulsions and redepositing oils during rinsing.

Determining Acceptable Residue Limits
Q. How do you determine acceptable residue limits when performing a cleaning validation?
