Q: In shipping, assuming the distribution routes are not temperature controlled, what happens if there are detergent shipping temperature excursions?

A:  Temperature excursions outside 15-30C / 60-85F are permitted during transit with Alconox, LLC detergents (all of which should be stored at 15-30C).  There is some risk with most of the liquid detergents that if you ship at temperatures below 15C/60F, that the formulation will split into layers.  If you restore the split detergent to 15-30C, and just let it sit, it will reconstitute.   The larger the package the longer you need to wait for complete reconstitution.  In all cases, once you have restored the package to 15-30C, if you agitate, stir or shake the package it will reconstitute quickly.

This will include frozen (or close to a freeze event) liquid concentrates that will similarly reconstitute once allowed to thaw.

The majority of the time, no splitting occurs, and when it does these reconstitutions happen on their own, unnoticed.

Detergent shipping temperature excursions on the higher temperature side are also permitted, and do not cause any separation.

Powder detergents, without the water component, are also not expected to have adverse effect during such excursions.
