Q. Can we use Liquinox to wash the stainless steel parts?

A. Yes. Liquinox® Critical Cleaning Liquid Detergent can be used to clean passivated stainless steel. Liquinox will not degrade the passivation of stainless steel. Martensitic or 400 series stainless steel is best cleaned at reduced temperatures below 100 deg F (below 45 deg C) so that you can rinse with the same temperature water without risk of breaking any emulsions and redepositing oils during rinsing. Although Liquinox will not attack martensitic steels, a hot rinse water can. Use lower temperature rinse water and be sure to use a water removing drying technique such as (blowing off, wiping, centrifuging, or dipping in isopropyl alcohol) to reduce the risk of corrosion from rinse water sitting on the substrate.
