Q: How should we remove dirt, oils and greases from lines, ropes and netting in the ocean used in seaweed harvesting?
A: We would highly recommend soaking/scrubbing in a warm 1-2% Alconox® Powdered Precision Cleaner solution. These residues from seaweed harvesting will be a mixture of organic and bioorganic films, along with particulate matter. The emulsifiers and chelators in Alconox powdered detergent will be very effective here. Following a thorough rinse, you will be all set!
Similarly, for cleaning in a washer where a low foaming detergent is needed, we would recommend Alcojet® Low Foaming Powdered Detergent or Solujet® Low-Foaming Phosphate-Free Liquid for cup-in-door or liquid dispensing washers, respectively.
