Cleaning Molded PEI Components

Q. Looking for a cleaner that will not degrade or embrittle molded PEI components. Also PCB cleaner.

A. Polyetherimide (PEI) is best cleaned by acid detergents. PEI can be attacked by alkaline cleaners. PEI can also be damaged by heat. We recommend using a cold/ambient temperature 2% Citranox® or Citrajet® (2.5 oz/gal or 20 mL/L) solution to clean PEI, followed by a thorough cold/ambient temperature rinse.
