Q: We are cleaning aluminum parts in a conveyor type washer. What would be the recommended detergent for removing general residues?
A: Conveyor washer systems allow for cleaning of mass produced parts, often uniform, to be cleaned efficiently and repeatedly. For cleaning general residues from aluminum in an automated conveyor washer, which usually takes a liquid concentrate, I would recommend warm 1-2% Solujet® Low-Foaming Phosphate-Free Liquid. It is safe on aluminum and used throughout the world for general residue cleaning in automated systems.
For residues that are largely inorganic in nature, or if the aluminum is not anodized, or otherwise freshly abraded, a safer option might be an acidic detergent like Citrajet® Low-Foam Liquid Acid Cleaner/Rinse. Again a 1-2% concentration and warm temperatures.
Typically conveyor washers have automated rinsing and drying steps. With our free-rinsing detergents, your aluminum or other parts will be critically clean.
