Q. I am wondering if ultrasonic cleaning would work to unclog waterjet mixing tubes. The mixing tubes are 1/4″ dia. x 4″ long with a .040″ dia. hole. Occasionally the abrasive media gets clogged in the tube. Are your cleaning products intended for precision manufacturing cleaning?
A. Yes! We have products very designed for the needs of precision manufacturing cleaning. The use of a high dispersing, powerfully emulsifying detergent such as Alconox® Powdered Precision Cleaner. Be sure to mount the tubes up and down facing toward the ultrasonic transducers in the tank. This should help ensure mechanical energy is directed through the narrow tube. Rinse by pulling the tube in and out of the rinse tank to cause rinse water to pass through the inside of the tube by gravity.
