How to: Clean Aluminum Plate (high volume)

Q. I am interested in a degreaser/cleaner for aluminum plate. We are looking to install this process into our production line with a high volume need, spray washing.

A. Using a high volume in-line conveyorized spray washer, you can clean aluminum plate using safely using Citrajet® Low-Foam Liquid Acid Cleaner/Rinse.

Load the wash sump with a 2% solution of Citrajet detergent (2.5 oz/gallon or 20 mL/L). Use a double strength solution for longer sump life.

Citrajet detergent is a mild citric acid based cleaner that does not attack aluminum the way many alkaline cleaners do. Citrajet is low foaming and suitable for using in high volume spray washers.

For manual cleaning operations including soaking and scrubbing, the higher foaming Citranox® Liquid Acid Cleaner and Detergent will be an effective way to safely degrease aluminum.
